Should you decide to participate in the next SAREP MC meeting you will be coming to Split. Should you be participating in the event organised by the SAREP Individual differences group you will also be coming to Split.
On behalf of Martin Howard, the chair of the SAREP COST ACTION, and on behalf of Rosamond Mitchell, the Individual differences working group leader, I have the honour and pleasure of inviting you to join us in Split
on 21st September and 22nd September 2017
Both events will be taking place at the Faculty of Economics, University of Split which boasts a modern building situated at the University campus. Please find below some information regarding the venue.
GETTING TO SPLIT
Split Airport “Resnik” (SPU) is situated 24 km from Split and is regularly connected to the city centre by airport shuttle buses (a single ticket is 30 kn or 7 €). There is also a choice of other transfer options such as car rentals and taxies. Once at the bus station you are also in the port of Split and just a few minutes’ walk from the heart of the city, the Diocletian’s palace. There is a short walk to the bus stop where you can catch a bus to our venue, Faculty of Economics, and the Campus youth hostel dr. Franjo Tudman (bus number 11 or 18).
- highway A1 “Zagreb-Split”,
- the road through inland Croatia (Zagreb – Karlovac – “Plitvicka jezera” national park – Knin – Sinj – Split),
- a scenic drive along the Adriatic coast from the north Adriatic (Rijeka – Zadar – Šibenik – Split),
- other roads if coming from other directions.
Split train station is next to the bus station (see above). Trains run between Split and Zagreb but trains are not a very popular means of transport in Croatia. Timetables can be found at the Croatian Railways website.
The bus station is located right in the city centre. There is a short walk to the bus stop where you can catch a bus to the Faculty of Economics (bus number 11 or 18).
BY FERRY / BOAT
There are ferries crossing the Adriatic from Split to Ancona or Pescara in Italy. The timetable may vary according to the season and the new lines and operators being introduced. Some information can be found here.
CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION (RECOMMENDED)
The most convenient accommodation which I recommend both for its convenient location right next to our venue and for its budget price is Campus youth hostel dr. Franjo Tuđman. The building is new and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. If you are lucky you can even get the room with the sea view. The price is 25€ per night. Breakfast is not included but is available at the price of 5€.
Important! I will be taking your bookings for the campus accommodation so I would really appreciate early bookings. You can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
